Hi! My name is Ingrid. You will find me either at Patagonia Toronto or on the Dismount Wednesday rides.
What Does Biking Mean To You?
To me biking is something that’s really special because cause it fuels the duality that I see myself kind of living in – either someone who loves spending time alone being on the trail clearing my mind being able to go through my thoughts and emotions and process them or I can kind of feel that other side of me that loves to be social and loves to laugh and hang out with other people. So I feel like it fuels kind of like both halves of me, of being alone and treasuring that but also that sacredness of friendship and being together with other people in your community.
What is Your Favourite Place To Ride?
So I got my bike four years ago I got it from Brockton Cyclery and the only reason I was able to actually afford it was because I had gotten my bonus from Patagonia during the pandemic which was really kind and amazing of them. I love it because I feel like when I don’t have it I just don’t have the freedom that I normally do. I feel like that freedom to move and to meet up with friends or just to clear my mind is something that’s really important to me and it’s something that I treasure.

What has been your all time favourite cycling adventure?
I would say back in the pandemic when the roads were open and we were bike on the Lake Shore super late at night. We probably would do around 70 km rides. There were no cares in the world, we would go out to the spit and it would just be dark and it just be us.
How do you think bikes and biking adventures can be more accessible for everyone?
First off, I think the invite is really important. I want people and I want my friends in my life to know that I want them on adventures with. When it comes to resources, because I think that’s obviously the biggest hurdle, I feel like a lot of us within the bike community have so many people, so many friends, or so many resources that we can access and if anything we can reach out to people we can make things happen. Whether it’s pulling our time, our money, or our energy together we can get people out on bikes it’s really about not talking about it so much and as doing it I would say.
