Hamilton Community Ride 2026

Ride Recap

As always, we started with a land acknowledgement – We ride stolen land. We are riding in the lands of the Anishibaabe, including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee peoples. Sources for our land acknowledgment are NativeLand.ca and Whose Land.

This ride was 36 km of conversation pace riding, beginning at Bayfront park and ending at Hamilton’s own Collective Arts Brewery. Registration was made free with the option to donate to the Everyone Rides Initiative. Our invaluable raffle sponsors helped us raise a total of $1172.42 in support of the initiative!

The day began with a pre-ride coffee social where friends, new and old, could get (re)aquatinted. Buffee’s Coffee, an up-and-coming Toronto-based Coffee business, catered providing energizing drinks and a rad start to the morningWhile some riders called Hamilton home, many came from across the GTA, driving and taking the GoTrain to Harbour Front Station. In the spirit of a ‘no-drop’ ride, we had the help of incredible volunteer ride leaders who ensured everyone stuck together for the entirety of the ride.

The ride featured a combination of waterfront trails, forested pathways, and residential bike lanes, highlighting the diversity of Hamilton cycling. It was raining heavily throughout the ride but our crew stayed together with our spirits high.

The ride ended with samosas and refreshments at Arts Collective Brewery where we exchanged stories and raffle prizes.

Thank you to everyone who helped capture and promote the ride, we’ve included some social media posts from our collaborators below. We would be nothing without our community!

A huge thank you to our raffle sponsors for their continued support! Their time, energy and value-aligned work keeps the cycling community going and we could not be more grateful that we get to call them friends. The Hamilton Community ride wold not be possible without their contributions.

Thanks to their donated prizes, we were able to raise $1172.42 in support of The Everyone Rides Initiative, an organization commited to reducing the barriers to cycling and providing equal access through education, subsidization, and outreach.
